  • IASS grows Fingerlime, on the slopes of Etna. It is a citrus fruit of Australian origins.

It is called "caviar lemon" because this citrus fruit, when squeezed, does not release juice, like normal citrus fruits, but very small spheres full of juice, similar to sturgeon eggs. Its name (finger, from the English: finger) is due to its shape, in fact it is, as you can see from the photo, a small fruit similar to a finger, very small in size up to 5cm in length and about 2.5cm in diameter.

Rich in vitamin C, B6, folic acid, potassium, it has antiseptic properties, aids digestion, is diuretic and refreshing.

Excellent on raw fish and vegetables, in desserts, in cocktails, with dark chocolate, in the decoration of gourmet dishes.

  • Saffron is a spice obtained from the stigmas of the Crocus sativus flower. IASS grows it on its own land, on the slopes of the Etna volcano, practicing a more laborious and demanding "annual" type cultivation, to have a better quality of the product.

In preparing the soil, he uses only natural fertilizers and weeding is done by hand and not with the help of chemical herbicides, not even selective ones. All this ensures that the spice is of superlative quality.

Antidepressant, anti-inflammatory, hepatoprotective, bronchodilator and aphrodisiac, nervous system, premenstrual syndrome, good for the brain, fights macular degeneration typical of old age, good for the skin, insomnia, are some of the properties of this spice, rich in vitamins, vitamin C, vitamin A, alpha-crocin and other carotenoids, manganese and selenium.
